The company had control over 28.7 percent of the ERP solution market. The company sells four solutions which can work in tandem as well as on an individual basis.

Oracle Applications, is the second biggest ERP company as was found in the same Gartner Dataquest survey. The company however trails far behind at just 10.2 percent share in the market of ERP solutions. Oracle sells its ERP solutions under the Oracle E-Business branding. The main advantage of Oracle E-Business suite is the fact that it can seamlessly integrate with other products from Oracle Applications especially their database systems.

The third ranked ERP company that is in the Gartner Dataquest market survey is The Sage Group. Just like SAP AG, this company is based in Eurozone only this time time it is a company from the United Kingdom. The Sage Group has 7.4% share in the ERP solutions market. The company is primarily a vendor of accounting and financial solutions but it has been really successful in the ERP market thanks to its great ERP products AccPac ERP and Pro ERP.

The fourth largest ERP company according to the same survey is actually one of the biggest companies in the world, Microsoft Corporation. The company has reached at the fourth position in a really short span of time. It holds 3.7% share in the market and this has come partly due to the fact that Microsoft Corporation is more than just an established name in the computer software sector and partly because Microsoft Dynamics, the ERP solution from the company is really very good.

The fifth ERP company in the survey was SSA Global Technologies. The company's market share was 2.8%. SSA has since been taken over by Infor Global Solutions.
